I haven’t been there in years, but I like the “old town” district. Lot of
nice restaurants and shops. You can also catch the train there to mexico
border and walk over to Tijuana.

Now tell me about this free ipod offer

Re: Going to San Diego

It’s essentially a pyramid scheme, albeit a fairly inocuous one. You have
to sign up with one of their referral links and get five people to do
likewise. That’s it. They have about ten things you can sign up for such
as AOL for broadband and ancestry.com. Most things, as soon as you get
credit, you can cancel. I signed up for AOL for broadband because I figure
I have 45 days to cancel before being charged. (and I wanted to see what
AOL was like these days)

I did enough googling to convince myself they were the real deal. But…
of course I make no promises for them. I just figured, what the heck. I’ll
give it a whirl.

Re: Going to San Diego

So in order to get the free iPod I have to get at least 5 people to try one
of their offers (and also try an offer myself)?

Yeah, I can’t believe I actually signed up as well. I’ve been meaning to
give Columbia House another whirl, so here goes

At least you got one referral!

Re: Going to San Diego

Thanks Rodney!

It is pretty tempting, isn’t it? An iPod is exactly the kind of thing I
never would buy but would love to have.

It took about a day for me to get credit for the AOL. I guess it depends
on what you sign up for.

Re: Going to San Diego

I just went to their site. It tells me you signed up and gives me your
email address. Now that I have your spam email address, I can, err, spam
it!

By the way, they send out a confirmation email that you have to click on
to verify. Mine got sent to my spam folder, so I missed it at first.

That’s funny…that’s exactly what I thought. I wouldn’t buy an ipod, but
it’d be cool to have one.

I just joined columbia house and got 6 DVDs for $17.40, so that wasn’t too
bad. If I wasn’t already an eBay member, I would have chosen that one
(although I guess I could have just signed up for another account).

Re: Going to San Diego

ha ha ha ha

The site’s down now. Maybe it was a scam after all.

Re: Going to San Diego

seems to be loading fine for me.

Re: Going to San Diego

hmm, me too.
Must have been a hiccup. (hiccough?)

Re: Going to San Diego

Trully one of my favority cities in US. Check out the Balboa Park area. They
have some excellent museums, as well as (of course!) the San Diego Zoo.

If do decide to visit Tijuana, be prepared for a very dirty city which is
very much UNLIKE real Mexico.
