I was wondering if people are finding www.Gmaps-pedometer.com to be down? Has it been down for a long time? Is it gone forever? It is an amazing tool and after today’s ride I would love to know how far I went.
Is there an alternative program that does the same thing? Perhaps one that also calculates climb?
It’s working for me. Try the old link http://www.sueandpaul.com/gmapPedometer/ and see if that one works for you.
Maybe there is a DNS problem that is preventing you from reaching the site?
Yeah I have tried the old one, aswell as just sueandpaul.com, and another link I found to it and a tinyurl link to what I assume was to the same thing. None have worked.

Try using the OpenDNS servers instead of your ISPs DNS servers. I can get to the gmaps pedometer site using OpenDNS. If it’s a DNS problem then that should solve it.
Also make sure your DNS cache is flushed.
In Windows at the command prompt: ipconfig /flushdns
Perhaps because it’s www.gmap-pedometer.com not www.gmaps-pedometer.com? Although if you already tried the sueandpaul link then maybe not.
It’s still working for me anyway. I’ve heard that there is a way to export the elevation graphs from the site and use a different program to calculate climbs and descents totals, I don’t know how to do it though.
Alright so I have finaly figured out the OpenDNS thing, its set up and I have checked it with their checker thing. I have also flushed the DNS cache like you said (unless I’m supposed to do it at a specific time or something.)
And it is still not working!
I’m thinking whatever is causing this to not work is also the same thing that is killing some youtube videos for me.
