Gloves

Hi. I ride trials and srteet with a Kris Holm seat, but I’ve been having blister problems. Also, when I hop seat-out my finger tips get banged up. Should I get gloves? If so what type? I wear wrist gaurds and would like to continue doing so. Thanks.

My hands don’t hurt, but lately its been colder and any time they hit something it hurts. I was wondering what gloves you suggest for winter?

KH Gloves

In Moab last March Kris Holm had a pair of prototype combination Gloves/Wrist Gaurds. He said they should be out soon but I have yet to hear anything else about them, it sounds like this is what you need. If anyone has any information about them I’d really like to know myself.
Thanks,
Zac

i’ve got a piar of 661 full finger dirt jumping gloves. they work great for unicycling because they don’t have the pad in the palm like bike gloves and are full fingered. I highly recommend some for anyone.

I use Harbinger Extreme Gloves 110G, and have reviewed them on my
website at <http://www.xs4all.nl/~klaasbil/unicycles.htm>. They’re
half-fingered which means that for normal pulling on the seat you have
the leather to protect you but if your finger tips get hurt too they
would do much for that. I like it though that I can still manipulate
my camera, inclinometer and other stuff.

I figure it’s pretty clear that offroad unicycling is a stupid thing to do - joemarshall

I had the same problem with my fingers when i first started hopping. I dont know if it was due to the schwinn seat, or if it was due to the fact that i was new to hopping so i held the seat tighter than i needed to.

Wlding gloves…?

I am not any performer but…I do not like my fingers hurt.

Welding gloves…?

I am not any performer but…I do not like my fingers hurt. Alomost from the beginning of my ‘unicycling carier’ I have worn welding gloves.
I am well avare that I am too protective but after having few of my nails inverted that was my remedy.

I use Harbinger extreme gloves now but they don’t seem to do the trick. Usually my finger tips hurt the most.

if your finger tips hurt, get soem full fingered gloves. as i recommended earlier, ones for bmx/downhill often don’t have much for padding on the palm which i don’t think is needed while unicycling, so they’re less bulky, fit better, and protect your hands.

Use motocross gloves. No padding and excellent grip.
Just do it!

I use No Fear full finger gloves, cause I also use them for Dirt Bike they work well for me.

I use old cheapie schwinn half finger gloves, but my hands dont hurt at all.exept, when i fell in gravel yesterday and wasnt wearing them.now my hand REALLy hurts.I should wear them more often.

I rode with Harbinger 110G skate gloves for awhile. I decided to switch to full fingered gloves + wrist wrap after I gashed the side of my thumbs and fingertips more than once.

Right now I’m using 661 Descend full-fingered gloves and a Harbinger wrist wrap. For street I just use the gloves; I don the wraps for the trails. 661 makes some wrist wraps, too, if anyone’s looking into a similiar setup.

The above messages are the resultant of inapropriate handling of ‘preview reply’ button. THE BEST (according to my standard) spelling version was not printed but two previous one ,instead.Dyslexia was given to me to keep me humble;) .

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I’m going to try a setup like Mandarin’s.

Mechanics gloves work really well

Sears sells a few different brands including their own. I have a pair of leather work gloves made by Dickies, also available at Sears that would probably be perfect for Muni riding.

Ironclad makes several models of work gloves that are really terrific. They protect your hands but still allow you to be able to pick up things with them. Ironclad are available at some hardware stores or online. I think that Ace hardware carries them.

So far, I’ve only used the above gloves on my job as an HVAC mechanic. But with the cooler weather upon us, I will be getting a pair for riding.
