Gliding...how to stop when the time comes?

well i was thinking about trying to coast now that i have a new frame, and then i got to thinking. that well if your going down a hill, and you have no feet on the pedals, and those crank arms are spinning extrememly fast, when it comes time to stop you are not gona want to put your feet on the pedals, so what do you do? do you push harder on the tire with your other foot or do you jsut totaly let go, adn let yrou uni. go sliding out from under you, adn go bouncing down the road? whatever, all i gota say for now.

I’m wurkin on that one…give me one more week.
Peace!

if ur gliding fast and u want to stop u just lose balance backwards some and smash your foot on that tire hard like a brake and you will slow down. you may not slow down really fast but at least you can get ur speed down that way. if u have a knobby tire you can slow down faster than a slicki tire.

Bail.

There are no feet on the wheel in coasting. If you mean gliding, you control
your speed with the foot on the tire, and hopefully don’t go any faster than
you want to. If coasting, you have to bail (you can generally go off the
front and land running). Then ask yourself what you were doing coasting on
that hill?
