Can somebody please explain the difference between gliding and coasting? I
though they were the same thing but having read some recent threads and the high
speed gliding web site i’m not so sure.

In gliding you have one foot on the tire, the other usually on the fork. In
coasting both feet must be off the tire. In either skill, no feet must touch the
pedals or cranks. Coasting is much more difficult. Alberto Ruiz
