Did anyone ever notice the six foot giraffe appearing in the middle and end of the Ramones video to the song “I wanne be sedated”? The video is bizarre, but most of us can relate to the hectic world shown in the background in contrast to the band moving in slow motion. Anyway the guy rides in through a crowd of people down a hallway, turns arounds, upd’s and disappears. Later in the video almost at the end, he returns, rides backwards and then forward out of view. There was a thread about appearances of unis on television or in movies some time back and I just saw the video for the first time. I wouldn’t have noticed if I didn’t ride.

Where did you see the video?
I saw The Ramones at CBGB’s in 1977. They were amazing.
A terrible band called The Cramps warmed up for them. The guitarist couldn’t do anything more than a basic 3 chord blues progression and the bassist spit on the audience and cursed at us. Even at the time I thought it was rather rude. 
I was 16 at the time and me and my buddy managed to find, after some moving around, one waitress who would serve us beer.
A pretty cool time to be growning up in NYC even with the fiscal crisis.
