Giraffe free mounting

Does anybody have hints for teaching a small person to freemount a giraffe?

I took lessons in bicycle riding. But I could only afford half of them. Now I
can ride a unicycle.

My advice for learning to free mount a giraffe unicycle:

think Jackie Chan!

don’t worry about falling; it’s going to happen but you will only fall like 3
feet max from a 6 foot unicycle…as the pedals are not that high up.

and possibly most important: go up. not forwards or backwards, and definately
not down while summersaulting.

it’s quick, like running in place combined with climbing a ladder.

if you are a small person, make sure you can go from wheel to pedal, pedal to
pedal, and sit on the seat easily… just having the distances not being too
large to cover with a long but quick step.

David

just go for it!

I think that it’s mostly done because it looks cooler. It’s not that much harder
than steeping over the back of the seat.

I don’t think it’s easier. However it’s not much harder. It’s a nice variation
and, Dustin and the riders in One Wheel - No Limit all being from the same club
it might just be a style thing.

I think an audience won’t notice much whether you go around the front or back.
They’ll just be amazed if you make it, or laugh if you don’t.

Additionally there’s another advantage for that “side mount”: you only need one
hand. For the standard giraffe mount (“reverse side mount”) you need both hands
(at least I
do). So when you want to take anything up there (clubs, your guitar or anything
like that) stepping around the seat in front is much easier.

                             Best regards,
                                Wolfgang
