Giraffe accomplishments

My 6 foot savage giraffe arrived on Friday, and I am loving it! I was able to ride it within the first 20 minutes (once I found a good method for getting on, which is standing on a 4-foot high ledge and mounting in a similar manner to a ground cycle). Hopefully I am not sounding too arrogant, but after about 3 and a half hours worth of practice, now I can ride forward and even make tight turns with total confidence, and I can idle in one spot. I successfully mounted the giraffe twice using only a wall as an aid. I came very very close to doing a complete free-mount (ladder-climbing style). I got up on it, had both feet on the pedals and was settling into the seat and was tipped over just a little too far to recover. I got about this close probably 5 times. I am so excited! If this rapid learning pace continues, I’ll be able to free-mount in a week! (Or will I?) What are some other fun things to do on a giraffe?

giraffe-fun

once u get the freemount, all things become possible on the giraffe
(they promised this in the brochure)
i’ve seen some muni’ing being done on giraffes
i know that jugglers prefer juggling on the giraffe because it is so much easier to control
u’ll also find a thread ref. giraffe jumping
u can basically do anything u can imagine on a unicycle, just a bit higher
enjoy

namaste!

Re: Giraffe accomplishments

Hmm, I never did figure out how to glide on mine.

I don’t spend much time juggling on giraffes on account of how challenging
it is to pick up.

Re: Giraffe accomplishments

Running errands on a giraffe is an entertaining and hopelessly impractical pastime activity. Just make sure if you’re picking up something it will fit in your pockets because you’ll need both hands to freemount.

I haven’t tried dog walking yet. My dog is used to having wheels in very close proximity and wasn’t at all intimidated by the camelopard encroaching on his territory. I am still uncomfortable about the thought of sitting on a saddle six feet up (nice alliteration, that) precariously perched and tethered to an animal with a fondness for darting after anything else that moves.
