Getting an orange Bedford MUni soon!

It is ready to be shipped, my orange Bedford 24 inch Alex Downhill MUni!
I had been dreaming about my first MUni for months now and it is almost for real.
Darren has had the frame powder coated in orange for me. The MUni has an Alex rim and Suzue hub with 6 inch steel cranks. Should be the perfect combo for me as I won’t be riding it that hard and my budget was a bit limited.
I am stoked! It will be great to have a MUni to add to my uni stable; it is going to keep the 24 inch Sem XL and 20 inch Bedford company under the kitchen counter/bar where the uni’s live… LOL.
Just wait, by this time next week I should be out on the nearby trails trying out my new MUni… I’ll let you know how it goes.

Cheers,
Erin

Greg

Ever seen an Orange Alex ALDX32 rim ? A black or Orange Suzue hub ?

Here is a link to some pictures of some of the new items available from
Bedford Unicycles.

I will have pictures of the new powder coated complete unicycles this week.

The Bedford all aluminum Ultimate wheel is pictured as well. (without
pedals).
More news to follow on that real soon !

(The 4th picture shouldn’t say Suzue hubs.)

Cheers,
Darren

Those are fantastic. I still want to see a photo of an industrial, flourescent orange unicycle. Erin, either you or Darren has to post one. Black pedals and saddle would really set it off.

The orange hub’s are tasty! What’s that set you back, if ordered seperate? and who has to ream the paint out of the spoke holes?

-Christopher

Re: Getting an orange Bedford MUni soon!

Christopher

No need to remove anything from the spoke holes. I have already built some
wheel sets. Orange Suzue hub, Orange Alex Downhill rim with Black DT
Champion spokes.

I will post more photos in a few days of wheel sets and complete unicycles.

Pricing will be available at that time as well.

Typically, powder coating is applied by an electrostatic process that gets
the fine unmelted powder to stick to the surface. The static is stronger on
exterior corners and less in interiors. This variation in static charge
varies the thickness of the powder at these points. The guy applying the
coating can change this to some degree. Tell him where you want the coating
thin (spoke holes) and especially where you want it thick (corners that can
get to the pavement).

Another method that can be used is to preheat the part so that the powder
sticks to the hot surface.

One technique I’ve heard of is to electrostatically coat the chosen color
and then apply clear coat powder to the piece after coming out of the curing
oven to make a thick clear coat.

Doug

i’ve seen these items up close, and i have to take this oppertunity to say that they look amazing!! I will get my frame powdercoated (through darren) and probably a new rim too!

I’m thinking a orange frame and maybe a blue or red rim:D Purple rim would be cool too! anyways just saying that these frames look sweet!

-Ryan

Those parts look awesome.
You’ll love your Muni Erin. I ride the same thing. I’m jealous of the powdercoating. Oh Santa…

Erin, I can’t wait you see your new Powder Coated Bedford. The pictures that Darren posted look very nice indeed.
