I went out and bought a $14.00 CAN. mtb gel seat, stretched it over my
viscount saddle and taped it up with bright red electricians tape!

Dylan-

I was able to get to the photo but not by using your link, even after unfolding it. Is the seat comfortable? It looks like a professional job assembling it. How does it compare to an air seat or, can you make that comparison?

Harper-

Yeah it’s pretty comfortable, (sorry about the crappy link) I haven’t made
an air-seat so i can’t make that comparison. I’ll be making that next, and
post about it when i do…

I haven’t tried using an existing gel seatcover, but I molded my own
seat-shaped latex slab. I simply layered latex into the inside (underside)
of my carbon seatbase.

It was no absolute success, latex (the type i used at least) felt a bit to
hard and heavy. It also took me a very long time to finish it. (doing a
thin layer each session). I think it would be great to put such a slab on
top of an airseat that feels to soft and “balloony” or maybe under an
airseat that bottoms out sometimes. (crotch-saver)
