gallery remote

hi

has anybody else been unable to use the gallery remote recently. I find that it logs onto the server adn moves onto finding galleries in the bar at the bottom, but comes up with the error:

sever contacted, but no galleries found at www.unicyclist.com/gallery

anybody else experiencing this?

more importantly, anybody solved the problem?

I have no problems logging on but the person I know might help you is John Childs or Gilby himself. They should help you with your problems. They should be on later sometime. Others will help you too.

It hasn’t worked for me for months now. When it was working it was really good and useful but I’ve just recently uninstalled it. If it starts working again could you please tell me so I can get it again?

I know last time it was ‘timing out’ or something Gilby fixed the problem but this seems to be a different problem.

Another thing is I haven’t been able to move photos and videos into other albums at all lately. Any help?

Yeah Andrew I couldn’t move the photo’s too. I’m due to put some in later when I will organzise some photo’s off the Digital Camera my father has. Yes anyone Please help Andrew and me on how to move the photo’s & video’s please.

I tried to use Gallery Remote about a month ago to upload my Moab pictures. Gallery Remote was not working. That was the first time that I had tried Gallery Remote. Hopefully Gilby will be able to get it working again.

It does appear that the gallery is feeling the strain of heavier use that it was designed for. Even uploading pictures manually is getting to be more problematic that it used to be.

Is the problem the number of albums, or the size and number or photos and videos? Should I not have so many different nested albums?

It’s not your albums or the way you have set up your albums that is causing the problems. It’s more likely server load and load on the unerlying database that powers the gallery. But that’s all just a guess on my part. Gilby’s the one who is in a better position to know what is going on.

Those blank ones should go. the one’s with “No Highlights”
with nothing in them. “Empty”. I found a couple of them lately.
Particulary the first one’s. If no one doesn’t play with them while logged on they should look but don’t touch.

Are the various albums in the gallery in any particular order? I’m just curious because I always thought they were in order of date but on page 33 (the last one) there’s a picture of a uni with a KH Velo saddle on it.

I just went through pages 33 to 20 and came up with these apparently deletable albums:

Does anyone feel like going through some of the other pages of albums? I’ll do some more later on if necessary.

Good on you Andrew. That’s want I mean. Unnecessary Album’s. No unicycling related albums, should go. But you can have some other’s albums related like my dog for example or your unicycling partner. My Album for example the one with my Dog will only last for about 3 months or so. Good work Andrew, you oughto

what do you bet that some of those empty gallerys are not empty but have hidden albums in them with no highlight?

some of those empty ones could accually be loaded with non-uni related junk; or even porn…

All the ones I marked as empty were either empty or contained albums that were also empty. I’m pretty sure I didn’t make any mistakes.

hidden as in,only the user with password can see it.its an option. a hidden album can be in somones gallery and you would never know it there…unless you have mod powers.

Now my gallery remote won’t work with me now.
I sometime make mistakes (not offen as much), but I found more today from Page 2 to Page 10. I won’t name them. I agree with Jagur to his point.
I think I’m speechless with him.

Assumad point was…pure info.
I do not know how the transmission works, but I do know I can get some pages from India which my brother i Pansylvania can not. So I imagined it may be usefull to sombody who knows mechanics of internet.:o
