I’m not anti-Hummer. I’m anti big bling SUV being used as a daily driver in congested urban envrionments. If you actually need a pickup truck or SUV truck with offroad capabilities and use it as such and don’t drive it regularly in congested urban environments then I have no ill will towards your vehicle.
I drive a SUV (I need the 4x4 and unicycle for my commute) and I totally agree with you but I am still Anti-Hummer. almost as much as I am anti-jacked up truck with low profile tires.
If it is not a H1 then there are other much more capable vehicles, The owner is on an ego-trip. If it is an H1 they probably don’t need it. A lightly modified jeep can go everywhere a hummer can go and more, If you need utility with the off-road capability a 1 ton 4x4 Suburban can do a hell of a lot, for half the price. Meaning if it’s a H1 the owner is on an even bigger more expensive ego-trip.

Despite my laughing at the Hummer Dinger parody, my beef with the Hummer isn’t the low gas mileage. I’m a fan of cars like the Viper and other muscled sports cars which get equally poor mileage. My beef is driving a big truck (an SUV is a truck) as an urban city vehicle. Same for the Escalade.
In the right surroundings an H1 gets my respect, especially if it is muddy and dirty and doesn’t have chromed bling.
We need to take this Hummer discussion to the car thread. In the meantime, looks like someone forgot to put the lid on the paint before hitting that speedbump at 60 mph.
My favourite hummer video, a beta up old landy would have made it with ease, but not the mighty Hummer H2.
