What I don’t understand is why god would chose us, out of many many planets out there. According to the “Drake Formula”, there are probably more than 10000 civilizations that are equal or greater in technological advancement than our own. Why us? If he so good, why is there famine, murder, rape, war, and sickness? If this is the work of a devine presence, then he is doing a pretty bad job of it. Priests, monks, whatever, are claimed to be the holiest of men, yet I keep on hearing of priests molesting, sodomizing, etc. Here in Canada, the government is getting sued for millions each year by natives who have been molested by trusted “messengers of god”.
I believe religion is just people trying to make themselves and earth seem more important, and will cling to this, even when evidence contradicts them. Ex: Many astronomers were executed for stating that the world was round, because it contradicted the bible. Now, it is common fact that everyone agrees with. Most people agree with gravity, but it is still a theory!!! So all that bullshit about evolution just being a theory and people don’t like to be told that they’re just advanced monkies, not created by god. Well if evolutions must not be taught in schools, then gravity shouldn’t too. Since gravity is a theory, then us orbiting the sun MUST be a theory. Most science is not 100%, so, using the logic of the board of education, most of science should not be taught because it is only theory.
The holy lands: Where the most blood has been spilled. Would god really want cristians to plunge their blades in arabs backs? Wtf! It’s just like the “Extremist Muslims” kill all infadels. Muslims, for the longuest time were the most advanced civilization in the middle ages; they had large universities and schools; the best in the world, public hosptals, and plumbing. Then they were attacked by waves of crusaders, turning them into a warfairing race.
I believe many will disagree with me, and I don’t care. If you disagree, give me pure fact and I will reconsider. Religion is good in small doses, it often gives good morales to live by. When it is taken to extremism, it causes clashes. In my eyes, religion is a lack of a more rounded understanding and all rounded education.
They where a war faring race (human) before the crusades too.
