Full Face Helmets

Don’t they teach physics in school any more?

Glad you survived.

I have a full face helmet I seldom wear. I find it hot and noisy, but then I tend to ride fairly long distances.

+1. I would be interested in seeing an example of light & comfy full face (and to know which model saved your face on this one).

I am thinking more and more about a full face and it is still good to have feedback from people that tried some already.

And I can’t wait too see the full vid too (with or without the drop cleared, its equaly nice)

This looks like it might be going viral, my son just found it on 9gag. Start collecting that internet money!!

I wear a fullface and have used it several times when I fell to the ground faster than I was able to react. It’s hot in summer (in winter it’s awesome) but that’s the price I am willing to pay. After you get used to it (which happens quite fast) your vision is not restricted too much. I NEVER had the feeling that I don’t see enough of what’s in front of me. In bikeparks you have to be a bit more careful though because you don’t hear that good if bikers are coming from behind.

i use the airoh Fighter helmet. One of the best helmets I have ever worn, the thing is super light, fits snug and i still have 100% of my vision with it on.

Yes in the summer time it can be hot. I would much rather be uncomfortable sweating than having to deal with my face plastered to the ground.

Look what I found!

Ahh you beat me - Someone sent me this GIF after I told them I unicycle!

Jacob, this is why you’re one of my favorite riders. I hope that someday I can send it like that; amazing. I also like how you can laugh at some of the others comments on that other site. Damn, some people are stupid. They have no idea what you’re really doing, and all they can do is talk about how stupid it was and how you’re a candidate for the ‘Darwin Award’ bullsh*t.

Props to you, now show us a video of you landing the jump.

Oh, and congrats on the internet fame…

Still waiting on my cookie though ;).

10/10 for that Guy even considering possibly landing that Gap :astonished:

I have a 661 Carbon FF. Couple years old now but great fit never gets too hot to ride and vents well on the move.

Havnt felt the need for Full Face on the muni thought. unless i was crazy and attempt a gap like that…

I love the Urge All Mountain helmet, Light great coverage.

My favorite was the person calling him a dumb*ss because he was trying to jump a uni without using clipless pedals.

'Cause, yeah, every serious rider uses those on their uni - especially when riding scary technical terrian and taking on big drops.

You were impressively close to sticking that landing. Damn… Rock on, Jacob. I stand in awe that you can even conceive of doing a jump like that - let alone being so tantalizingly close to landing it.

If you guys are really thinking about getting a full face look at the carbon fiber helmets. They usually are the more expensive ones but they are the spank! Amazing fit and you can wear them all day long!

You guys are great! Hopefully ill be able to go back and stick that landing. To be honest im not 100% sure I will strictly due to there being no landing, something I am highly against when doing a drop these days. Even a small drop to flat can be painful, I only did this one because of how sweet it was.

Everyone is so funny with what they say, honestly its something totally new to them so they will either hate it or love it, most hate it but mehh who cares! if i cared what others thought id be riding a bike :stuck_out_tongue:

Awesome awesome awesome!!!

Waiting for your new videos (they are coming, right?)! Thanks for infusion!

Yes hopefully the video will be out before christmas!

Its going to be a full free ride type of riding video. I originally started it over christmas break last year and found out that it was going to be a huge project. Finding lines that are big and interesting to me are tough and then being able to ride them is even tougher. Right now I am having to sit out for a bit due to injury but hopefully the video will come to an end!

All you guys that ride XC massively inspire me for the adventure aspect of riding. Its insane how far you guys can ride and do everything you do. I have been working on my endurance whenever I am injured and its amazing how much it helps me for when I go and do lines that are miles away from my vehicle.

Nicely put!

Awseome.
Looks like your weight was just a wee bit too far forward.
Wouldn’t want to come up 6" short on that :astonished:

They just keep getting better and better.

sets as desktop wallpaper I could watch it all day!

I’d consider it but I don’t think animated gifs work as wallpaper in windows 7.

I’m staring at it, waiting for one of those guys to make it.

What was the definition of insanity again?

Pretty funny clip! Good job, Shmoligin. I can’t help but chuckle every time I see it.

Speaking of see it, I was on msn just yesterday and there it popped up again. This unicycle fall is everywhere!
