Seeya there,

Jono

Since your profile says unicycling and you seem legit, you don’t seem to be spam. You are a member of the community sharing a personal interest. More than allowed, I’d say.

First thing I saw on that forum was a sparse guide on how to crack WEP that was more or less copied from other forums, but with much less detail. What is anyone to learn with step-by-step instructions that don’t tell you why you’re using a particular tool or gathering a certain type of data.

Next thing I saw is a couple YouTube clips.

Is this really a programming site, or a “Just Conversation” for script kiddies?

I think you jumped the gun here. You shouldn’t “release” a site until you’ve got some content on it… even then, you should make sure the content adds some value to the site.

Make sure your site offers something that people can’t easily find somewhere else. That’s what’ll make it “good”.

I’m not the one who does the programming guide. My friend does. And he said that his was a better simplified version (and by the way he hand typed it, no copy and paste there). Perhaps you havea lot of knowledge on cracking WEP, so the guide may seem simple. It’s more designed for noobs.

I’ve never craked WEP, but I’ve used some of the tools you discuss.

My point was, that if you’re writing “for noobs”, you should to give more than a set of instructions. You should also give them some explanation for why they’re using those particular tools, and what they’re accomplishing at each step.

A “noob” isn’t going to know why, for example, they’ll want to start a particular service before running a particular application. They might ask questions like “what does this service do? why does the application depend on it? how does the application work with or without the service? what else can i use this application for?” and so forth.

It’s the issue of education versus instruction. With an education, people learn something about what they’re doing. With instructions, people only learn how to follow instructions.

Do you get my point?

Tell my friend that mate, I’m not the one who wrote them.

Well, since ‘we’ don’t have contact with ‘him’, maybe you can pass on a message?
You are, after all, also linking your name to the site.

So, wait, you’re going to shill for your friend’s site… tell us all about it… tell us to come visit it… claim you’re part of it…

…but once you get some constructive criticism about it, you’ve got nothing to do with the site?

I’ll give you this… what you seem to lack in intelligence, you make up in ignorance.

I feel so warm…

I wasn’t claiming to not have any affiliation with the site, in fact it’s mine, not his. I made it and gave him adminship.

All I’m saying is don’t give a bunch of advice on tutorials, because I can’t do anything, I don’t write them. Don’t be such a dick maestro, intelligence has nothing to do with misinterpritations. And in fact, I’m not the one who made the misenterpriation, you are. So if anyone were to lack intelligence, it would be you.

Hey lad, behave, will ya?

And watch your panguage, please.
