frog mount

The unicycling FAQ lists “frog mount” as one of the mounts. I have no idea what
this is. Can someone please explain?

Scott,

Yes, that is a name that must look pretty silly without an explanation
(ribbet). Beirne, if you’re listening, you might want to add this to the
appropriate place.

Quick description: Stand behind your 6’ giraffe with the pedals level. Using the
seat and/or seatpost to help pull you up, jump directly from the ground to the
pedals. Then stand up, straddle the seat and ride away. When you land on the
pedals you will look like a frog!

This mount is hard. I’ve done it from a curb, but never quite did it on flat
ground. I can think of better ways to hurt myself. Sem Abrahams did it back in
the early 80’s. Don’t know if he came up with the name, or if it came out of the
Coneheads group he performed with at the USA Nationals during those years.

Definitely a worthy mount, but not easy on a 6 footer.
