Frightened Rider

I want to try unicycling, but I’m afraid of falling. Can I get training
wheels? Thanks

Then forget learning unicycling.

Bad idea. They don’t work too well. The most effective way is to have two
spotters. See the unicycling website for info on how top learn to ride, or get
a book on the basics (such as my book).

Alex,

Use a wall for support, just coast along it, practise until you just touch the
wall with your finger tips, it is good to have the wall close by if you begin
to lose it!

Good Luck,

Actually, most of the time you only fall onto your feet anyway. It might sound
weird, but you don’t really have that far to fall. Sure, you’ll fall off heaps,
but I never once hurt myself while learning to ride. Take the plunge

you don’t need training wheels. just get a helmet, gloves, elbow and knee pads,
then wrap a matress around your middle and you’ll be set! seriously, you don’t
fall that far, it’s not so bad. unless you fall off a 6-ft giraffe.
