Freewheel unicycling dips: the three bears 9-5-2013

I sometimes practice riding my freewheel unicycle at a small BMX track. At the entrance there are three dips of varying difficulty which I’ve dubbed The Three Bears. I was able to ride the easiest one (Baby Bear) with my 20" freewheel unicycle. Now that I have a 26" freewheel unicycle I can ride the next hardest one (Mama Bear) both ways and the hardest one (Papa Bear) one way.

looking like a pro

You’re making it look easy enough to be normal. :astonished:
FANTASTIC Really looking good!
Thanks for sharing.

Looking good!! It was interesting to note that most of those falls at the end were off the front not the back…

Thanks! I wouldn’t say this was easy but the terrain was a welcome change after two days of riding broken, bumpy single track. Riding level or uphill on pavement or trails and downhill on pavement is now relatively easy. Riding downhill on rocky or bumpy trails is still challenging, especially at a certain level of steepness.

Thanks! That’s just because I usually catch the seat when I dismount off the back on a UPD and didn’t include those. At the point of the dip where you go from downhill to uphill there’s a natural tendency to throw you backwards so you lean into it. If you don’t lean enough you fall backwards and if you lean too far forwards you fall forward.
