Fred Phelps,of Westborgh.com, is dying.

An Iconic man of modern times. For the gay culture, he was much as the similarly god directed fanatic that had preceded him in 1860ish. John Brown. John Brown knew what god hated. Just like Fred Phelps, a minister to a true church of GOD, must be positive about what GOD hates. For John Brown it was slavery, for Phelps it was we should hate gays like we are a united GOD that will smite not just the sodomites, but the gomoarites too. No one remembers what the gomoarites did, Plelps made sodomy sound so cutting edge bad that now all the gomoarizing people feel safe, thanks to him, and his clever distraction.

So how do I tribute , and why write his obituary before he dies ? Well… what are you going to do after he dies, picket his funeral ? Would he like that, or hate it ? Imagine if no homophobic haters come to his funeral. Would this make him feel lonely and unloved in the afterlife ? assuming he is of a religion that has the “get out of death free” card.

John Brown was a failure at starting a slave rebellion, and was captured and soon hanged by Lee’s men. But he started the idea that slaves may revolt, supported by white friends who believed in equality.

Phelps started, or at least is the most famous face for the anger of GOD against fags. Hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, and troop deaths are all logically caused by GOD’s rage against gays. Picketing funerals of troops to help people learn this seems helpful once you accept the basic fact that GOD hates fags and our troops are dieing because of GOD’s anger.

I hope Phelps reads this on his death bed. He has done more to advance gay rights, and respect for the sanctity of funerals than anyone in his life time. I’m not sure if he was aiming for reverse psychopathology, but regardless, he hit it.

I feel that picketing Phelps on his death bed would only give him what he has wanted all his life - fame and notoriety. I believe that it is better that his death is ignored amongst the thousands of others that happen every day.

On the polarisation of opinion, you are definitely right. By taking such a strong and public posture, he forced the public to think about what was right and wrong. Fortunately for us all, his opinions were too unpalatable for many people to agree with.

phelps

would it be in bad taste to spread a rumor that he died from aids?

no

Just be clear that he got it in a bathroom stall at the airport in Atlanta, with an anonymous senator named Santorum.

Everyone knows if you are going to heaven or hell, you are going to have a transfer in Atlanta.
