Forming a uni basketball team at NAUCC

Two of the unicycle basketball folks from Berkeley (me and Keith, who
some of you met at Moab–he of the sprained ankle) are going to be at
NAUCC, looking for a uniBB team. (I tried to get 5 people from here
interested, but it didn’t fly).

I’m sure there will be a way to hook up with a team there, but I
thought I’d also send out a preliminary message to the newsgroup. I’m
hoping we’ll have a serious and competitive team, so I’m looking for
people who are good unicyclists, good basketball players, or
preferrably both. I’m one of the two strongest players in our local
group (along with Jeremy Schafer, who can’t make it); Keith is a
solid, tall unicyclist with basketball skills.

If you’d be interested in joining what could be a strong squad, let me know.

If you weren’t planning on being a strong squad I’d say count me in!

It should be pretty easy to form a pick-up team, between here and when you arrive at NAUCC. It will be a little harder finding choice players though. I can’t guarantee availability for all games, but I will help out if I can.

The strongest team will likely be Semcycle, unless there is a group coming from Puerto Rico…

Great!

The guy who started our group here in Berkeley, Marc Hertlein, used to
play for Semcycle when he lived up there.

And I’m better than him, so we’ll kick some butt!

(Actually, I don’t care all that much about how strong the squad winds
up being, but I’d like people to at least be committed to attempting to
win, as opposed to just goofing around.)
