I started riding a Schwinn 20" uni with 5" cranks arms. When I started to ride
in the woods I wanted to increase the tire size to 26" and determine the crank
arm length required to provide the same torque as the 20". The new crank arm
length worked out to 6.5". If anyone can read a CorelDraw 4 file I have attached
an analysis of the above situation as it applies to riding a unicycle down an
inclined plane. Perhaps someone might find the information useful/entertaining.
If you have trouble with the file e-mail me your fax number and I’ll fax it to
anyone interested.
