Hi Craig,

The uni is brake ready. You can either install a disk or rim brake.
I have the under-seat mount for installing the brake handle which is included.
The right crank supports a disk brake configuration.
I never used a brake on my 24" only my 36" and 29".
Pictures attached: disk mount on lower frame, rim mount, and under seat brake handle mount.
