Flatland BMX

Go there and scroll down to the BMX section. Look at the flat land videos. They are amazing. You can see some unicycling moves like 1ft wheel walk and coast being done on a BMX.

Cool you share my opinion on flatland. Andrew Farris, Matti Kuopa, Trevor Meyer, are my role-models.
I’ve always liked the BMX mentality and riding style much better than unicycling.

Last year I met Matti Kuopa, and lots of other X-game medal winners during an event in Amsterdam. When I practised on their floor they all came to tell their respect to me. That was weird; my heroes watching me in stead of opposit.

The grass is always greener on the other side…

Yeah, I too love watching flatland BMX. I’ve got a great little video of a guy who was performing outside before our Powerhosue trials demo. He did this fantastic routine that went something along the lines of…

Riding > riding the front wheel like a BC wheel > one foot ww-ing with the frame on one side > one foot ww-ing with the frame on the other side.

…and during all this he was riding around in circles that became smaller and smaller.

He also did some sort of pirouette on the back wheel, then as he pulled out of it, he swung a leg over the frame and pedalled out. It was incredible.

I’ll share the video eventually.

Andrew

Don’t know. I certainly like unicycling (to do better). But I enjoy watching BMX more (than watching nicycling).

I wonder, do you (all out there) also think the media make BMX evaluate faster than unicycling does (without too much media atention)?

But I think the disadvantage of this media is that it eliminates a broad field of riders (young kids, girls, and espicailly older riders).

What do you think?

BMXTRIX.com has some nice online videos of flatland riding. In their How To section the have short videos of individual skills. In their gallery they have full videos of flatland routines. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the site has been updated in over a year.

Flatland BMX is cool stuff.

fatbmx.com is made by a (Dutch) judge of the X-games. I once did a great TV performance with him.
I’m subscribed since the early beginning to their newsletter. Not much video, pics or tuts, but it keeps you in touch with what’s happening in (and around) the scene.

I love watching flatland BMX and flatland skateboarding over other styles of said sports- it’s a shame more people faff about on vert ramps than the concrete. I really want a BMX set up for flatland- has anyone tried flatland BMX since uniycling? Tried out some wheelwalking etc? How hard is it?
