First unicycle and some confusion

Hello! I just bought my first unicycle and joined the community. I have been interested in unicycling for a year and a half now, so I have figured it isn’t just a passing phase. I have used it a few times and can almost ride. However, I am confused as to why certain things came with it and what they are.

I bought a Torker LX 20" unistar and while I love the unicycle itself, I have to say the instructions were very first-time unfriendly. Beyond having the worst pictures ever and terrible step by step instructions, I ended up with a thing. I am not sure what it is, as the manual did not tell me. In fact, on the list of things I should have gotten it is not even there. It is a square metal thing with a flat part that allows it to stand up. I thought maybe it was a stand but it obviously isn’t.

Anyone know what it is?

Also, why did a giant roll of duct tape come with my unicycle? It confuses me to no end.

Thanks.

i’d bet the duct tape was accidently dropped inside during packaging. how tall is the “thing”?. the frame of the uni is supposed to rest on the stand. look on google images

Ah. I had a feeling the giant roll of duct tape was there just to confused me.

Here is a picture of the Thing.

Interesting thing! Obviously not a stand, at least not all by itself. What a curious addition to your unicycle, along with that roll of tape? Where did you order it from?

send the picture to the manufacturer if you cant figure it out. what confuses me if the part you are touching in the pic. make a phone call maybe to the company. or just throw it out. but i think youd like to know, right?

It is a stand but there is a second part to it that goes inside that flat part. The square is the bottom of the stand.

Haha. I am slightly entertained that nobody knows for sure what it is. I ordered it off Amazon, so I think I will have to track down where this Thing came from and why it was included. If it is a stand, I wonder if I would be able to order the other part to it and save money?

Thanks guys.

does the pedal go in it like a kick stand thing. and with the duct tape it great for injuries and everyone loves it so free duct tape.

I have a torker lx 26 and it came with the same thing.

that picture is the base for the stand. It comes with another peice that sits on top of it.

You then place the unicycle on the stand. the crank rests on the platform and the frame goes behing the hook on top.

makes since

yeah thisisausername is right but I wonder why you got only half the stand. :o

Yeah, that is wierd… you can never trust people to give you both parts of the stand. :astonished:

You can probably Order the other part by itself on ebay or something.

Hey! that was my hundreth post lol! yess!

Okay, so at least it has been established what the Thing is. New question: is the whole stand supposed to come with the unicycle or was it a mistake? Since this is my first time buying one, I am not familiar with what is supposed to be included.

Yes, the entire frame is supposed to come. Mine came with one.

If you really want it, You can probably contact the company and they’ll give you one.

Here is a picture posted by some one on another thread. It is hard to see the stand, but it’s the best I could find.

Both parts should have been sent to you; so if you contact the place you got the unicycle from they should send the rest to you.

Enjoy your new ducttape, that is really weird. :stuck_out_tongue:

you do not need the stand, just forget it. i hang my uni upside down in my garage on a hook.

Welcome to the forums.

That is the base of a two piece Torker unicyle stand. There is an upright piece that fits into it. Torkers as a rule come with a stand so I would contact your supplier and ask them to send out the other piece.

You will prpbably end up buying more than one unicycle so it’s always a good idea to collect as may stands as possible for storage purposes

so do i

Thanks everyone! I’ll contact them within the next few days and see if I can get that part.

And Reed, I would just hang it up, if only I could. We do not have a garage and I plan on keeping it in my dorm in college. A stand would be nice to help store it somewhere out-of-the-way.
