Greetings all,
I have decided at long last to stop talking about learning to unicycle and getting started. You all are the experts, what should I get? I’m 5’8" and 180# living on the outskirts of Detroit.
Looking forward to the recommendations

Any idea’s what you want to eventually be able to do?
If you’ve been reading up you should know the different disciplines
You’re in america and i’ve heard good things about torkers for starter/learner uni’s
the good thing about a learner unicycle is that its a fairly inexpensive way to start you off riding, from there you can decide what you’d like to do
Give us more info and im sure the nice people here will help!
A Torker LX or Club from UDC would be a good learner if you want to buy a new one. You could also check craigslist for a used Schwinn or something similar and buy a more robust unicycle once you’ve learned to ride and have a better idea of what type of riding you enjoy.
I think it’s better to go for a simple learner uni for now until you decide what you want to do. At 5’8 a 20" would probably be a good fit.
I think it’s hard to know what type of riding you eventually want to do at this early stage, so best not to end up investing a lot of money in the wrong type of uni.
Of course everyone’s opinion is different and the decision is up to you. Good luck!
Depending which of the “skirts” you live in, hook up with the Redford Township Unicycle club. There is no better way to get motivated (and get help) than to be around other unicyclists.
Even if you live way over on the East side I still recommend it. As for a unicycle, shop around (online; bike shops don’t have a selection) and get one that you like.
also check ebay for the unicycle you want because I saved around 40$ and I still got my lx brandnew.
yeah, we need to know what you’re doing. Because if your doing trials or flat you should’nt get a 36 incher.
