Can’t believe I missed this thread! I’m on team 834. We were at Trenton at the end of February and will be at Drexel in Philadelphia at the end of March competing, as well. We don’t have the resources or people to build a practice robot, so our practice was Thursday and Friday at Trenton. Our robot extends up to hurdle or place the ball. I’m one of the dedicated drivers (my hat says Llama) at the competitions this year, so I’ll be easy to find if anyone wants to talk at Drexel.
we’ll be at milwaukee here in acouple of days, we hav finally got our practce bot moving, and we are about to add our “kicker” that will launch the ball out of our grabber and over the overpass, YAY!!! and with a top speed close to 15 mph our robot should be crossing lines like nobodys business, YAY!!! as soon as we have pics/u-tube links ill post them.
This is our robot “bandit” named after “smokey and the bandit”
and you can see the 15 lb solid steel plate weight on the front to keep us from doing wheelies.
this pic was taken without the required bumpers atached, the frame is 4130 cromoly steel and our entire electrical system is easily removable and folds up into a box, its robot origami. our elevator tilts to a vertiical position, and lifts to place/knock/kick balls. our incomplete kicker seen her is now complete and launches balls 10 feet in the air(from the floor position) and 20 feet distance with a top speed close to 15 mph it should kick but
good luck to everyone. post pics if you can
Wheeeee thread revival. Any new people involved? Having fun on the ice?
I missed this thread when it rolled around last year… I’m mentoring team 1726 down in Arizona.
