First day of school

Last night I read this thread and tried to make a UW… All went well until I tried putting the pedals on. I failed. heh I might just buy one! And I’m gonna have a Uni-day. As soon as I decide on a new Uni.

If you’re making your own UW, do yourself a huge favor and purchase the UW pedal brackets from unicycle.com. I made a set from some scrap aluminum, had them threaded at a local bike shop (it’s a thread only used on pedals) and eventually had them strip out before even learning to ride. The brackets are not expensive and work well. Positioning of the pedals is important too. Think of what a difference longer/shorter crank arms make -or ones that are bent. My last UW (clear plastic) was made on a milling machine to exacting tolerances and is much easier to ride than the first one. (It also uses the UW pedal brackets.)
Jer

Thank you. I think I might just buy one. heh I’m REAL lazy.

Please post a photo of your acrylic UW for the folks who were not at UNICON. It is one gorgeous piece of work. (I spent a little time alone with it when Jerry wasn’t looking.)

Fantastic!!! I have downloaded the photos. With your permission, I would love to put them up on the bulletin board at school!!! The students begin this coming Wednesday.
