I just accepted a job offer to be a initial attack firefighter on a type 1 (primary) crew at Denare Beach.
My “employment” starts on April 13th but my first day of work/training is the 14th. I guess they don’t really want to start us on Easter Sunday.

Wow that sounds pretty cool. That is decently North in Sask, is there a good sized city there?
It is about half an hour from Flin-Flon.
For something more major it is 10 hours from Saskatoon or 12 hours from Winnipeg.
I am going to have to finally fix up that old canoe sitting outside my parents shed and bring it out there. I plan on being the first to jump off the cliff on island 44 in the spring but it is going to be COLD. Denare Beach is where I have ended a few good canoe trips.
awesome! there’s nothing like a good wildland fire. even though i am a structural firefighter we go on wildland fires during the summer and we all live for those fires…well at least i do. should be a blast for you.
Congrats! SOunds like fun too. I get to do fun things with my job like learning to kayak, bike/MTB riding clinics, etc. I hope they move me up so I can stay…I love it too much lol.

CBS where are you working? I worked at a summer camp for years and was payed to do some pretty cool stuff. I got my canoe instructors course, bronze cross, Advanced wilderness and remote first aid, and a kayak course from the camp that I worked at then was payed to go on month long trips…
This pays a lot better though.
And I will be aloud to put lights and sirens on my truck… 
My friend is a structural firefighter in Christopher and she has a light bar that she sometimes puts on her mustang. Looks pretty sweet.
