The Cult: Sonic Temple
Emerson Lake and Palmer: Brain Salad Surgery tour.
(That is if you don’t count the classical concerts my folks took me to. I vaguely remember sleeping through Carmen.)
Reel Big Fish…it was free, too, and outdoors, which made it AMAZING.
edit: Actually, I saw weird al in 4th grade.
So I guess thats my first.
skindred- FOR FREE.
the only played like 5 songs, it was only the lead singer and guitarist, and it was all acoustic. but it was tight.
I saw incubus over the summer, that was my first big named concert.
Chase
the only concert ive been to was with a friend and i’ve never heard of the bands until i went to the concert.
The bands I remember were “Akimbo” and “These Arms Are Snakes”.
It was at the Vera Project in Seattle.
Thousand Foot Krutch five times.
First concert I went to without TFK was Daft Punk.
The Red Hot Chilli Peppers at Hyde Park, London.
I was a late starter.
Out past Masonville mall where the new Walmart is??
That’s the one.
Handy for beers, wasn’t it?
beers?? we could smell the air from my place
I dont remember my first gig… I keep all my tickets, Ill have a look though. James, I’ve just got tickets to see RBF, with UDC Roger
Joe,
Never been to one…they don’t seem very fun to me. Too many people.
I’ve never been to a “big name” concert. I was pretty musically sheltered as a child.
The first rock concert I ever went to was The Prayer Chain and Mortal (which seems to have no presence on the web–think industrial/rock).
The last concert I went to had a semi-big name, I suppose: Freezepop, with Solvent and Joy Electric, all synthesizer bands. All the Guitar Hero freaks know Freezepop, right?
What constitutes a “concert” anyways? Most of the shows I went to in my high school days were sweaty, cramped punk rock gigs in coffee shops.
I can’t remember which was my first… Richard Marx or Gloria Estefan. Not my choice, though; those were mom’s picks. I was too young to have any musical taste.
With that argument, sounds like you wouldn’t enjoy anything on Earth… 'cause we’ve lots of people here.
Those count
same here, except it wasnt free
i saw weird al last year that was my first cocert
Oh, I forgot to mention.
James Brown was the support for the Chillies.
He was worth the ticket price alone.
My first concert was most likely a classical music concert by the Oregon Symphony. I’d go whenever they visited Salem Oregon. During college I’d go whenever they played in Corvallis. Or I’d take a trip up to Salem or Portland to see them.
I’ve been to a few big rock concerts but most are disappointing. The sound being bad and the atmosphere there not for the music or the show.
not if you saw a marilyn manson concert!!
