Firefox Themes and Add-Ons

For all of those with Firefox, what kind of themes and add-ons are you using?

I am currently using MidnightFox as my theme, and I’m not using any add-ons. I don’t find many of them useful; the standard Firefox options seem to do it for me.

When I used firefox I had the default theme and the gmail add-on. It was quite usefull to never have to login to gmail.

Addons I use are StumbleUpon, Open Tab in IE, SpellCheck, Word Count, and umm…oh, Download Youtube Video.

My theme is just the default firefox layout. I’m happy with it.

The essentials:

Adblock Plus and Session Manager.

Session manager takes advantage of Firefox’s built-in crash recovery stuff to let you save sessions at will. This means you can save exactly what you were doing, close your browser, and then open it later. You can set it up to save a crapload of windows and tabs. Sure you can bookmark a single site, but can you bookmark six windows each with 4 tabs at once? That’s right, beeotch.

Adblock Plus is helpful in the area of reducing frequency of seizures due to flash advertisements on your favourite websites. As in, it nukes those bastards. And if it doesn’t, you can right click on stuff and tell it to. Nyatch.

I love Adblock Plus.

I use scribbles_plain at the moment.

The main add on I use is the one that tells the weather forecast. And the video downloader, although I haven’t been able to get it to work recently.

I’m not a fan of themes for individual applications. I like all my applications to have a consistent look.

I use redshift, it takes a bit to get used to it.

Since somebody mentioned mine, I’ll chime in. I’ve used Scribbles_Kids ever since I first saw it. It’s a little goofy-looking, but makes the standard Firefox interface look boring as hell. When pages are loading, a juggler juggles three balls. The buttons are cute and have funny rollovers.

For Add-ons, I have these:

  • Web Developer
  • Firebug
  • DOM Inspector (don’t know if that one’s built in)
  • FireFTP

I don’t use them much, but they’re there when I need them.
