Yes, you can add more if you can think of them. Please do! No, you cannot delete them. But I can - mwuahahaha! And yes, this was just so I could play with some MySQL thingies…
small anedote on an ICT trade show in Holland: me: “can PocketPC handle XML”
he: “yes, off course”
me: “I bet I cannot handle a page of my “homepage”, can I try it?”
he: “sure, go ahead”
I type in an URL of errorist.net ment to crash normal IE
me: “I think it’s crap”
he: smiles polite
I hand him over the the thing. He discoveres that his gadget is broken by only one http-request.
I smile polite, and slowly leave the crowded scene.
The american supersomethingsupervisor of Microsoft realize he can only sue me under Dutch law, and that Dutch judges have common sense and probably use Microsoft products to.
On the end of the week when I later ask him about his showmodel being unfuctional during all days of this trade show he does’nt seem to bother the lost of the device: “these square meters were very costly”
me: for consumers that thing is costly!, especialy if it does’nt work. It is not me who broke the device. It was only my creativity that determe the lazyness of Microsofts developers.
(it was a IE_3 bug patched 3 years before then, re-apeard both in XML as in javascript hidden in hex-decimals, it could write straigth into the registry)
Anyway, Phil, I gladly help if you want to make an i-Mode AND wap version.
Unless you managed to reflash the ROM on the device the PocketPC would recover (and be functional again) by doing a soft reset or a hard reset. There is no reason for the PocketPC to be non-functional for more than a few minutes after that demonstration.
The list was compiled from extensive use of the “search” thing… Andrew suggested making one big list as there doesn’t seem to be one uber-list of “YLAW!” responses. I thought the “generator” would be slightly more interesting than just a list; plus it lets me play around with different ways to keep potentially nasty comments off it (that’s what the “OK” button will do when I wire it up).
Good to see some new ones added, even though the creators of the last two didn’t want to put their names to them*…
