I just finished watching Rumiko Takihashi’s Anthology. It was pretty awsome.
In my opinion the best anime of all time is “Castle in the Sky” by Hayao Miyazaki.
Chuck Jones’ short masterpiece One Froggy Evening is my favourite cartoon.
The bike chase sequence from Akira still rocks, even after all these years.
Belleville Rendezvous (best animated dog ever).
Oh, and The Yellow Submarine (“What a grand bandstand.”).
There’s dozens of others, but my mind’s gone blank.

Futurama is second.
Right now my two favourite animated movies are Renaissance and Waking Life.
Renaissance is a French animated movie that was done in a really unique style, it won a bunch of awards too I think, and waking life is actualy a live action movie that has been drawn over. I think there is a term for this but I don’t know what it is. Definatly worth checking out though.

Naruto, Bleach, Van Helsing, Puni Puni Poemi, Full Metal Panic, Prince of Tennis, Excel Saga, Doraemon, Akira(duh), Lain & about any of the MS/Gundam series… My uncle works for some online company that sells anime, so I get anything thats ever been transslated to english for free, but I usually just end up giving a lot of the DVDs for free.
Anyone else seen the preview for ‘Afro Samurai’? Samual L. Jackson, as a samurai. Just let that sink in. SBS (AUS) on Monday night is screening Southpark then Drawn Together for those who don’t know. Hi-jinks ensue.

It’s a technique known as rotoscope. Disney have used it a few times, most notably on Sleeping Beauty, and Ralph Bashki used it quite well on his Lord of the Rings adaptation.
