I was surprised to find, upon using the search feature, that there were no threads about what you guys like to watch on TV! Maybe I missed it, but every forum needs a TV show post.
My two favorite shows of all time are:
Farscape - probably the best show on television, I was lucky to discover it, considering I don’t get the scifi channel (or any cable/satellite channels for that matter) and fell in love immediately and bought the entire series on dvd.
Firefly - a short lived master piece with great potential. Unfortunately canceled before its time… grr
Dharma and Greg was one of my favorite sitcoms, although I was fairly young when it was on Its weird seeing Thomas Gibson in his role on Criminal Minds
Star Trek: The Next Generation. I have very fond childhood memories of watching that every afternoon. Data is still my favourite character, and I frequently use Captain Picard as my role model for etiquette and politeness.
It’s kinda sad, that when I revisit the American TV shows I held so dear in my youth, that I now find they’re complete bullcr@p… I was a huge fan of the A-Team, Knight Rider, Airwolf, Magnum P.I., Dukes of Hazzard, et. al., but now I can hardly bear one episode of these shows.
My dad and I watched Cheers and Night Court regularly with much glee. That was back before I had a sense of humor. My dad, now as then, has developed his level of humor to compare with that of a five-year-old. Needless to say, he’s easily entertained.
The TV shows that have held their value over the years are all British comedies: MP’s Flying Circus, Rowan Atkinson’s Black Adder, Are You Being Served. I can’t watch these episodes enough!
I also liked Sports Night.
And 6ft Under.
I probably like that more than I liked Dharma and Greg.
It may be the one series I’d think about getting on DVD.
That and Sex and the City.
All the CSI (Las Vegas, New York and Miami).
Supernatural
Cold Case
Criminal Minds
Heroes
Firefly
Farscape!!! I loved that show. I never saw the movie though…I should probably get to that.
NCIS
Simpsons.
