this page is a very significant example of confusion between “design” (the real thing!) and technical gimmickry.
from the single point of view of design (graphical, usability, user experience) there are too many faults (dispersed focus, graphical “fickleness” -butterfly flight in designers’ slang-)
In my (not so humble) opinion the extreme difficulty of being a web page designer is that clients are willing to pay for gimmicks and find that well designed sites are too “simple” (so do not accept the cost of all the work needed to make it “simple”).
When web sites started to pop-up this “humble” site: http://www.conrail.com/ won plaudits from the Bandwidth Preservation Society!
I know that some people on this forum are professional web designers (I am not!) could they give some more positive advices and help?

I’m not a professional web designer at all, but my favourite web design ever is www.google.com There is simply nothing I know that beats it.

And that Fast Design page is plain terrible.

The internet has turned into a Machiavellian nightmare of driving web traffic to web sites.

My favorite software designer phrase is: “putting lipstick on the dog” (said out of earshot of managers)

My least favorite is: ‘customer funded development’. (said BY managers)

I hope that’s a joke site. I mean, it couldn’t possibly be a real web design company, could it? If it’s real then it’s a spectacularly bad way to advertise their services.

I get it! The site is fugly and yet they’re selling a service they obviously suck at.

However, anyone who chooses them after seeing that page might actually be happy with their end product… :astonished:
