Farewell

For me, hobbies come and go. They are just a means, not an end. They are
all fun while they last, but eventually I get bored and burned out doing
the same thing for so long. Two years ago I gave up model airplanes and
started doing trials on a unicycle. Now I am giving up unicycling for…
(you’ll never guess)… bicycling. A friend sold me a Redline Dually,
built up as a trials bike. So I’ve had fun doing some trialsin on it as
well as fire road and singletrack riding.

So you probably won’t hear much from me anymore. I may still show up to
Idaho MUni weekend this year since it’s close, but don’t be surprised if I
show up on my trials bike

Farewell friends, it has been fun.

ps. If anyone wants to buy my Thudbuster Muni or wide-hub Coker,
they’re for sale.

A two wheeler? Oh boy. Chris may not realize it, but I get the feeling he
just wants to get into a sport where the equipment lasts long enough for
you to put some wear & tear on it before it breaks!

I do indeed hope we will get to see you at MUni Weekend.

Chris,

It was fun while it lasted, right? Thanks for helping me out on my
unicycle.

Are you still planing on selling handlebars for the unicycle? If not
its not problem, George Branres (sp?) is selling some too, i think.
just asking.

Also, prices on those two fandango unicycles?

Thanks,

Now hold on right there Mr Reeder! You don’t have to be a single-sport (I
first wrote uni-sport!) guy. It’s possible to enjoy unicycling AND biking

  • I’m living proof. And I juggle most days at lunch time too! I know that
once you reach a certain level in an activity the learning curve is less
appealing, but after 30 years of juggling, I still invent some new move or
trick nearly every time. No I won’t ever really get much better
technically, but I still love it.

I’m guessing (hoping) that after some time doing trials just on the bike,
you pick up the unicycle and give it a try and have a blast doing it
again. So DON’T sell it!

See you in Idaho, on one wheel or two.

No, I won’t be making handlebars. the one I have works pretty well,
but I never got to the point where I could reproduce it accurately. I
do hope George will make some to sell, as they are definitely needed
in my opinion.

Chris

Wow, that seems sudden.

I do understand, however, that there are a lot of things to learn in this
world, and you can’t learn all of them at once. Personally, I tend to pick
a few core things to occupy myself, and work at others on and off, and put
them aside once I’ve gotten the hang of them.

That being said, don’t get rid of the unicycles! I hope you at least keep
one or two, so you can take them out every now and again.

Best of luck with your future hobbies, and many thanks for your
contributions to unicycling.
