Family riding

My wife Jacquie started learning to ride in 1999 (before we were married), but never finished. She got to the point where she was just starting to let go of the wall.

This seems to be a common pattern. My wife also started to learn, but did not try it for a long time now. Some others also mentioned that in their family husband+kids unicycle, wife started it but did not finish.

maybe go out really early in the morning for rides? then your family might be asleep and you wouldn’t be leaving them because they’d be asleep and you’d get a bit of uni time to yourself…

I agree though-- unicycles are definitely chick magnets.
