Has anyone tried or considered using one of those Exoskeletons while riding?

Like that hypershell I’ve seen popping up recently.

Moin @Raddreher,
in 2016 someone stated that I am wearing an Exoskeleton because of my knee protectors. Passive ones, no motor. Most of the time unicycling is more about precise torque than brute power.

Hey 👋
Yes, that makes sense. I just started this year and am practicing on inclines currently.
I just thought someone might have tried it already. I saw a bicycle YouTube channel trying them out and the guy was doing all kinds of tricks with them.
So I thought if there was a use case for Unicycles for more extended range or hill climbing.

Oh, also to add I am not planning to buy that. I’d rather use my money for a 36" instead. I am just curious.

Hey, on personal level we all struggle with it. Recently there was this thread with this nice video:

> [@What is the steepest slope you have unicycled down?](https://unicyclist.com/t/what-is-the-steepest-slope-you-have-unicycled-down/291787/3):

Fortunately I live near Hamburg on plain flat land. So mounting uphills is not my favorite skill.

Interesting video, but he always falls back to the habit not to move while riding downhills. We had this post where the crank length required downhills is zero. ‘No’ muscles required:

When I go through sand or climb steep uphill sections I need to pull me back down on the saddle. The Exoskeleton would catapult me to the moon, but wouldn’t increase the force on the pedals more than my weight (what is required sometimes).

@Raddreher thanks for posting this. I had a big operation on both my feet and legs, last year, no riding for a whole year, that, took its toll on my legs muscles and they withered away. @ 58 I am finding regaining any leg strength a real challenge. Really I just cannot do the things I would like to, I just dont have the strength or stamina. My skills are ok, but any distance is now a real issue.
So maybe for me, this would be a way I can keep on enjoying riding my collection of unes, and not have to compramise so much on what I cannot do, but would like to.
Looks like it would work fine on a uni, so I am seriousley tempted.
The downside, its £939, but if that keeps me riding my unes and enjoying them, maybe its not so bad.
So yep seriously thinking about it 👍

Ultimate wheel riders know exactly what you’re talking about. Being totally exhausted after 100m riding. Unicycles are a good exercise for everyone. In your case a cheap solution could also be to use that lost wheel and ride bicycle to pre-train your muscles.
My wife has problems with stamina too. The exoskeleton would help, but she certainly wouldn’t dare to use it. I would definitely try it on a uni in case we had one.

@Ulkicycling thanks, no interest in riding 2 wheels I am afraid, or an electric uni or an ebike, none appeal really.
My legs just need a boost now and then.
I love riding all my unes and a 40% boost in leg strength, sounds perfect.
It looks like it would work well with a uni from a design point of view. How will the “power assist” in real time work, not sure.

Yes, it looks like it wouldn’t get in the way of moving the legs. And the bicycle rider did a wheelie on a bike. But if it delivers support the same way when on a unicycle? Not sure. Ulkicycling mentioned above that it is more about precise movements and that makes sense to me

@Raddreher, Haha my legs get a 40% power upgrade, when it arrives tomorrow, so I will defo give you feedback. Done quite a bit of research on it, so we will see. Based on my weight and height it should off set 41% of my total body weight. Ive watched loads of videos and waded through lots of reviews, and its gets good reviews.
My concerns are, how robust is it, if you have a UPD, how long will the battery work for, how will the chinese electrics hold out.
Will it work with my knee and shin guards.
Ive gone for the pro x the more powerful 800w 1hrsp version which comes with two batteries approx 17.5 miles each battery. It has a cycling and adaptive mode, so all should be well.
Either way I will find out, if it works as it should, then expect a review and video at the weekend. Gonna get used to it for a couple of days first.
