Sorry about the heading but I really need people to see this and, hopefully, help me out. I’m going up to Vail, CO in a little less than a week but, of course, there’s a problem. I don’t have a brake mounted on my uni (I have a Magura HS but have yet to mount it), nor do I have access to welding equipment. My question is this, will they let me on the lift in Vail w/o a brake and if not is there anyone in Colorado that can mount the brake for me for a reasonable price? Any and all help would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Zac
Zac;
It appears that the Evil Empire (excuse me Vail Associates) may not be as invincible as we thought. We (Owen, Nate and I) were able to ride Beaver Creek a couple of weeks ago, no brakes required. BC is run by Vail Associates and is just down the road. We haven’t tried Vail itself (and certainly want to because it’s supposed to be more technical). I’d say don’t worry about it, and if you have a problem at Vail, go over to BC, I think there is even a bus.
Usually, if you explain to the nice people at the lift nicely, that you can indeed stop your uni without a brake, they’ll let you. At least, that’s my experience.
