Supposedly, my class has the largest emo population of any class in our school system… they are pretty creepy, though.

I have been asked if I was Emo. Normally I tell them Emo kids don’t have mohawks, and if they did they’d be black
I have friends who are emo and they are nice enough, a little moody but that is about it. It’s the crazy art girls who are worse, i went out with one for about 6 months and it was awful. They are depressed and bitchy, there family is broken up and inconsistent, someone (parent, sibling) has died who was close to them, they are only happy when painting etc, music is far to important and they always have that one favourite band.
WARNING dont go there. (oh and they will pick up with anything that moves)
and aabout the band, the lead singer is always there ‘one true love’ and if you are with them you will never equal anything except second.
they say things like; i dont know how to love and/or your too good for me and to get a positive remark from one is but a dream

I’m just tired and grumpy, but that there should be a distinction between real emo and modern fallout boy/MCR/etc garbage.

emos are a mania in brazil. but in general they are 14 to 17 years old kids (don`t they all?).
in são paulo emos cant walk calmly on the streets... punks are tired of all that criyng bullshit and beat the hell out of emos. hehehe. theres a gallery where every rocker goes in SP (its called the rock gallery duh! kinda like a small downtown rockn roll mall) and the emos were banned from there by the punks because instead of doing tattoos and buying records they just stood there and cry…
I like to listen to some bands they call screamo though… but if songs with feelling are emo, what is deftones playing till today?

I think most of us here aren’t talking about people who listen to the genre of music classified as ‘emo’. I for one don’t really mind people who do - to each his own (though I personally can’t stand the music).
We’re talking about the high school kids who wear too-small jeans, have hair over their eyes, have makeup where it shouldn’t be, and act all depressed and cut themselves.
