I get along very well with “compression shorts”. They are similar to bike shorts but do not have the padding and are much cheaper.

I personly would recomend spending a little extra and getting padding.

Something like this underneath something like this works the best for me. The outer shorts protect the inner shorts from seat abrasion, making them last much, much longer.
