Hopefully, I can make this clear what I want to do. I would like to find a way to check several web-based email accounts on different servers by another single web-based email account.
For instance, let’s say I have email accounts, bubba@abc.com, gump@def.com, and shrimp@ghi.com. I’d like to find a way to transfer the email in those accounts to my account on the jkl.com server, yet leave a copy of each email with their respective servers.
In otherwords, I’d like to copy all the email from abc.com, def.com, and ghi.com into my account at jkl.com, plus I’d like for it to check the email in each of those accounts, say, every three minutes. Can it be done?
I know it can be done on a mac, cause my stepdad does it. You will have to know some weird IP stuff or something from each server, but it’s probably not to hard from there. Sorry I can’t really help you I can just confirm that it’s possible though.
If abc.com, def.com, and ghi.com support POP3 access you can use Google Mail to pull mail from those accounts and read it all in Google Mail. I think Yahoo Mail will do the same, but I like Google Mail better.
The problem is that the other email accounts have to allow POP3 access and not all do. With POP3 you usually have the option to leave the mail on the server or delete it after it is pulled.
you should just be able to forward all mail from those accounts to your main email. I did that with my college email account. You would have to go onto those accounts, look in the settings for an autoforwarding thing.
GMail is very helpful in that not only can you receive email from multiple pop3 accounts, you can also send from that address, making it very functional.
Okay, so I set up a gmail account, added another email address, just one of them for now. I saw some instruction somewhere along the way about selecting a option to leave the incoming mail on its original server, but I can’t seem to find the button to select. I wonder if I have to be a more important gmail user or something. Are there options available to more important people than me? So far, I have two email addresses entered but the options seem to be very limited.
Thanks.
Aha! I guess if gmail isn’t going to allow me the feature, I need a different option.

I didn’t realize Gmail didn’t have that feature for all accounts.
A different option would be to run a program that allows you to access various web based email accounts using a POP3 email client like Outlook Express or Thunderbird. The disadvantage there is that your mail gets tied to your computer and your email client. So it wouldn’t work well if you wanted to use multiple computers or have the same access from other computers.
There are various free and shareware programs that will do that. I haven’t actually used any of them. Some popular ones are:
Web2Pop (shareware)
FreePOPs (open source freeware)
There are others as well. You’ll have to find one that supports the email accounts you want to access.
Just go into each account and set it to forward mail to the desired account. Most mail sites support this, just check. There should be an option to duplicate messages and leave it there too.
