Everyone turn off all electricity for and hour in a few minutes. do it for the world homie, gotta go or earth will hate me.
what are you on about?? earth hour?? so we turn our electricity off for an hour to help save the planet, because we will all be doomed otherwise because of global warming?? im going with Jeremy Clarckson with this one, global warming is good! we end up with a climate like california lol:D

Power stations take a long time to turn on and off. Even if everyone in the world didn’t use electricity for the hour the carbon dioxide production for that hour would barely dip. I guess it raises awareness, but is otherwise useless.
just fucking do it. don’t have to have a fucking bitch about it.

Thats funny, my town is doing that…it said that Australia started it, and then want to make Europe get into it…and my town is doing it now…haha…its funny that I just heard it and now there is a thread on it.

Maybe I just don’t understand how electricity systems work, but I don’t think the generators at the power stations would stop turning just because we stopped using electricity.
That said, I’ll make sure my lights stay on…I wouldn’t want to waste all that energy being used for me.
they wont turn the power stations off for an hour, so they will still make electricity, so ill use it!! infact i think ill find a way to use as much as i can as not to waste it lol:D ooh a funfair, that sounds good:p 
Oh, come on now… Lets try make an effort here. I’m participating, because its neat to participate in a worldwide event. Just turn your electricty, or most of your appliances and lights off and see how easy it is to live without them, even if it is just for an hour. For those who were living in southern ontario a few years ago, remember when we had the world’s largest power outage? We survived and had fun with it. Now this is just for an hour, try it out, I’m sure you’ll all be alright in the end. 
I did it, but 20 minutes too late. I woke up at 20:20 and then turned off my pc and lights, lit up some candles and read a book.

6.5 hours until I shut everything down.
Ill actually be gone for the night, so all of my stuff will be off for about 7 hours.
Whilst visiting my Grandpa at the hospital I made sure I turned off all the machines I could find.
I’m glad you are doing your part to save the world. 
My lights are staying on, I’m not stubbing my toe in the dark for the earth, or anything/ anyone else for that matter.

Google has turned out the lights. Wouldn’t it take slightly more energy for a computer screen to display a white background than to display a black background? If so, then multiplied by millions of users, it might add up to something.
