Dyno Fireball alternative,[bonus thread]

this photo shows the front tire of a custom two wheeler made by Willits, its called the “big rig”.

the front tire must be custom made too but,im not gonna pursue it.i told you what i know ,so if a fat tire you desire do your own homework.

I posted Wes a letter just now- I’ll call later this after noon and get the low down.

A piece of good hunting there Jagur! the tyre in the photo is definately (maybe) bigger than the 24" that I’d personally like but, from what I can find, it seems Willits go for 29" MTB type bikes. So this tyre might be a 29x3" slick? The mind boggles!

I couldn’t find any mention of the tyre manufacturer so hopefully Rhysling will get a useful response…

Talked with Wes- he said the tyre might actualy be a 26x3.5"(!!!) and is made by www.remolina.com. I am unable to find ANY goolge referance to this company, and the URL doesn’t resolve. :frowning:

If anybody else wants to bug Wes, you can reach him at (970) 349-0130.

Let us know what you find out… I’ll keep digging.

Christopher

well he made the two wheeler, one would think the knowledge of the tire on his creation would be easily remembered?

maybe finding out what kind of rim its on would lead to a better answer about the tire.

to me it looks like a 24" rim more than a 26".

Ahwww… come on people! It’s free when you call from work! Make his phone ring until he curses AGB…

[sp] The same hombre that designed the Fireball for GT went to work for another cycling company after GT’s dissalusion (which I’m prity sure is an actual word). Anyway, he has continued to design tyres with flames and such on 'em, but I have yet to find a commercial supplyer -nor do the new tyres seem to come close to the volume of the Fireball. I’v got a 24 with the label still on, sitting in the unlocked trunk of my car… I’ll give you until 4 o’clock CST to boost it.[\sp]

I was reading this article on hostile takeovers of small, independent custom-tire manufacturers, and I came across the word “dissolution”. I think it refers to an alternative way to fix a problem, as in: “Dissolution might not work, but at dis point, we’re willing to try anthing.”

(my edit deadline expired, so…)

[sp]I’m prity sure it’s more of a ‘You get the house, I get the Unicycle’ sort of affair, or like when the ‘tell death do us part’ relationship you have with your Roach Armour ends badly on a sharp rock, and all the parts of your knee can’t be found.[/sp]

Re: Re: Dyno Fireball alternative,[bonus thread]

[sp]Well, if ya’d found my car, t’wood be free  (gratuitous use of emoticon)

Hadn’t real-ly considered it- I payed too much for it, and would have to ask an embaressing amount to get past the ‘what if’s’ and regret of parting. Then again, I may never get past the ‘Label Seperation Axiety’ that has thus far left it unused…[/sp]
