Dumb Miyata Saddle Question

I just took my whole my saddle apart to put on my reeder. When I was putting the saddle back on the uni I had to stop because I wanted to make sure I was putting it on right.

I have a miyata saddle and post. I think the long part of the post plate part goes in the front, but I’m second guessing myself. So, long part in the front or back? First one to answer gets a prize!!!

Not really, but thanks in advance.

You want to angle the saddle upwards in the front. For me I have the long part in the back. That way I’m less likely to snap the post on a bad drop. (in theory)

Wouldn’t putting the long part in front make the saddle angle upwards?

Yup.

The long part is in front.

OK. Thanks everyone. Apparently the last time I rode I had the frame on backwards. I was going to put the long part in front because that makes the most sense (it reduces the amount of leverage you get on the post) but when I saw the frame turned around the other way I wasn’t 100%. Thanks.

Hmm. (runs and checks) Nope, my plate on the post must be bent. Having the long part in the back tilts the seat up in the front.

Oh well, sorry for the confusion.
