DS

I know this may not relate directly to unicycling, but what is Dual Slalom
Riding? I assume it is something to do with Biking that has a medium to
high risk of injury. Also what is the actual difference in Protection in
the Roach DH and DS armor? I know where I can get some Roach Gear in DS
and colors so I just thought I would ask.

Dual Slalom as related to biking is where two bicyclists race downhill on parallel trails that are pretty much identical. It is very similar to like what you would see in downhill ski races, except it’s on a bike.

Dual slalom racing is racing down a track with banked corners and some
jumps, usually head-to-head with another rider (on two separate but
identical tracks). Often courses are set up so that halfway down the
courses cross each other, which can be exciting if both riders arrive
there at the same time!

Re Roach Armor: DH armor has hard plastic in both the shins and also the
knee. DS armor has hard plastic only in the shins.

My opinion is that DS armor is more appropriate for MUni, because the DH
armor is less flexible. DH armor is also slightly wider at the knees and
the inner part of the DH armor therefore tends to brush against a knobby,
3" tire, eventually shredding the armor on the inside.

Strictly speaking the DH armor has more protection then the DS because of
the plastic in the knees. Having said that I still prefer the more
flexible DS armor for moves like gliding or hopping seat out in front,
where you really have to bend your knees.
