Hey, just wondering how you guys in Australia are coping with the droughts over there at the moment?
How wide spread is it?
I saw abit of it on the news this morning here,
I hope things pick up for you soon!

Joe,
The United Gates of America
Hey,
I was watching a documentary about gated communities in America the other night. Here we have private estates, but not communities, that I’m aware of anyways!
Just wondering if anyone on RSU lives in one of these, and whats it like?
I see the theory behind it, and could imagine it was originally a good idea, but now is seemed to just be like any other white christian populated area. They still have drink drug and violence problems like anywhere else. The only thing they seemed to benefited from was keeping mexican/latin americans out.
You views please,
Joe,
I’m not coping, this summer we had to get rid of our pool because it used too much water so now i have to run around naked through the sprinklers… J/K. Yeah it’s getting quite hot and were not even at the peak of summer. So all i do these days is sit down and watch the ashes its also to hot to unicycle so my uni is getting fat after a few weeks of no work out.
Yeah here in sydney it’s like 4 seasons in one day. one minute i’m unicycling and it starts raining, the next minute it’s boiling hot. Man i can’t watch the ashes, it makes me wanna sleep. I don’t know maybe it’s just me
:p.
The weather has been really patchy where I am. We’re under stage 3 water restrictions (whatever that means) and yeah… the weather’s gone crazy.
It was nearly 40 degrees Celcius a couple of weeks ago and it was too hot to do anything. Then on x’mas day it dropped to less than 10 degrees celcius where I am - too cold to do anything! Some of Victoria, NSW and Tasmania enjoyed a white christmas. First time for a while that that’s happened to my knowledge!
I don’t live on a farm anymore, so I’m not deeply impacted by the drought, but when I went across to my old house or even just anywhere where there’s supposed to be a whole lot of grass it’s just so bare and dead! Even for summer it’s terribly dry!
I hope we get some decent rain soon, especially with these bushfires.
Ed
This is what it LvL 3 restrictions means:

Oh… My bad.
Heh…
Ed
It is to rain all weekend here finally
When you look outside the trees and grass are all a much more ‘brown’ shade of green, that’s for sure. We’re at Level 4 water restrictions now, but apparently we’re heading towards level 5 soon.
It’s funny seeing kids playing in running fire hydrants on TV…I never used to consider how much water they’re wasting but that’d be everyone’s first reaction these days!
We just installed a rainwater tank at home and were out standing in the (very rare patch of) rain watching it fill up yesterday…a real novelty.
Unfortunately now that we’ve had a day or two of heavy rain they’re really struggling with flooding at a lot of places further inland. The ground’s too dry and hard to soak it up, I guess.
It was so strange travelling that short distance last year to New Zealand and seeing lush, green trees everywhere!
Andrew
The drought is so bad down here i took a shower this morning and ran out of cold water.
I was watching the news about what’s happening to the snowy river. That will most certainly bite if we lose one our beloved rivers.
Is that why your name says “I’m sooo thirsy”?
I feel sorry for victoria, Australia members who are about 2 get LvL 4 restrictions in may
QLD has had level 4 restrictions since november i think !
Whoa, that means you can’t water your garden and may have to resort to using recycled water.
