DownTown Toronto Sunday Rides

Every sunday for the rest of the summer the city of Toronto has hosted pedestrian days in both the church and wellesly neighbourhood and Kensington Market.

Basicly they block off traffic to a few city blocks and turn it all into a little street party open to pedestrians and cyclists and no cars!

Last sunday i ventured out with some fellow newbie unicyclists of varios skill levels to take over the empty portion of church street in front of Timothy’s coffee shop. 11 am arrive have a good cheap breakfast at the “Five Alarm Diner” and move down to the bottom of the no car zone for a little riding, racing, and learning to ride for some.

The whole experience was amazing! We had a large portion of the street from 11am to 3 pm (when the crowds finally started taking over the street). to ride and practice and just hang out. there was only 4 of us at this perticular meet but it really went well. there was certinaly no shortage of friendly on-lookers and a few even dared to try it out with a little assistance.

i am formally inviting anyone with a unicycle to join us on church street sunday for a little street riding general unicycle comerodery.
