Don't miss it, 12.34pm today

Yep, later today, at exactly 56secs past 12:34pm, the digital time will be 12:34:56 on 7/8/9

Blink and you’ll miss it :stuck_out_tongue:

Here in the US it’s August 6th still, and of course we do our dates wrong: August 6th is 8-6-09 not 6-8-09

Just before it was 4.05.06am 7/8/09

but your one is better.

Wooh! I saw this at 12:32.

Edit: Hold on, it doesn’t work down here at the U.S. of A. :o

I saw this thread at 12:35.

I am so angry!

Edit: Oops! Just realized it doesn’t work for me.

What exactly are we looking for? Is something going to happen? People in the US were excited for our 7/8/9 (your 8/7/9) but nothing happened…

It’s just like Y2K all over again :stuck_out_tongue:

The world will grind to a halt, computer systems will crash, babies will crap themselves, and no one will care if you paid enough tax this year.

Those of you in the US will have another month to wait because of the funny way you write your dates.

It’s simpler to say “august 7th, 2009” then it is to say “the 7th of august, 2009”. Thus, why switch it around backwards from the way you say it? Right?

Huh? We always say it as 7th of August 2009. It makes more sense to have it going in ascending order right? :stuck_out_tongue:

The weird fleeting pleasure of knowing that you saw some sort of order on your chronograph.

We actually had ours a month ago on 8th July.

Oh, the arrogance. It’s not simpler. It’s just what YOU’re used to.

Self-centered arrogance, the proud American virtue.

Whoop!

Maybe, but not for file naming. Then it makes more sense to do year, month, day. Then everything stays in order!

A typical photo filename of mine:
20090808_10-22-54_foss.jpg
First part is the date, second part is the time (hour, minute, second), last part is who took/owns it.

Keeps 'em in order no matter what. Then you have to allow some occasional extra digits if you’re using rapid firing and get more than one shot per second, but that’s okay. Except my cameras number them wrong, and the first one is always last in order. Then you use your photo-organizing software to make collections by subject or however else you want to work with the images.

lol why does America have to be different? Metric is way better than imperial and so is our order of date :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway back on topic, I missed it :frowning:

Me 2. :frowning:

I talked to a few people at work about it… they all think im even more crazy than before…
