Does Uni improve other skills?

So, after unicycling for quite a while now, I have discovered that unicycling has improved my water skiing skills. I’m going snow skiing soon and wonder what effect it will have on that.
Has anyone else had experiences like this?
Is there anything that unicycling can’t do? (rhetorical question)
I figure it’s such an amazing sport, it can do anything

I live in Australia, and my town has 1 street. Help alleviate my boredom.

I believe it’s improved my balance skiing and has definitely reduced my fear of falling.

My balance on a bike has improved too.

Probably the biggest improvement though has been my interpersonal skills…

I love anything on wheels but nothing else for me has impacted other sports like a uni has. Besides balance it helps with fitness and improving leg strength. I play in a men’s soccer league and I often feel like I am on my uni when playing 1 on 1 with another player cutting back and forth, etc. Kind of like hyper-idling.

Uni improves everything. You can even ignore those late-nite male enhancement commercials, that’s just redundant.

Since I’ve learned to unicycle, I’ve become quite adept at slacklining.

I’ve also since become skilled in solving differential equations, designing circuits utilizing op-amps, and programming in Matlab.

Remember, kids… correlation does not imply causation! (Except for what UniBrier said)

My wife still thinks I’m significantly clumsier than normal on my feet. Maybe I should practice walking more.

Good question

I’m curious too. One of the biggest reasons I got a Uni is because I love to do wheelies. I can wheelie all 4 of my motorcycles (see my avatar), but I use the rear brake to control the wheelie after the bike is beyond the balance point. I also have a mountain bike, I can’t wheelie it so good. I wonder if since I’ve learned to Uni I can wheelie better on the bicycle?

Kinda cool that since I got my Uni I haven’t ridden my bicycle once:D

Maestro, What is slacklining?

well, I don’t know if it’s exactly from unicycling, but since then, I’ve been more aware of my balance and my posture has definitely improved.

The sharp action-reaction turns on unis reminded me of ski turns, and I’ve worked out those muscles a lot while unicycling, so I might be better next season. I might be braver when doing spins.

Come to think of it, skiing might have been a great way to prepare for the uni - I even overcame my fear of going backwards because of skiing…

unicycling has improved my ability to empty my bank account. :astonished:

How interesting - but none less than what I was expecting of the legendary and noble sport.
I figure uni also helps climate change because it only uses half the material a bike would!

it helps you burn leather wallets:).(inside joke)

It boosted my hand and eye co-ordination a lot.

I completely agree about the leg strength. And my brother also sais his biceps hurt after just a short ride so he may be increasing his bicep muscle but for some reason I don’t find my biceps hurt at all or that I even use them when unicycling.

Yeah, what they said. Improved everything and the sore arms. Weird, 'cause I don’t flail - much.

:stuck_out_tongue:

My friends and I are finding one arm bigger than the other, as a result of only hopping with the one arm.
Its very attractive.

Unicycling has helped me with the ladies, but not really.
