Does Love Exist?

I think love, like religion is onee of those things humans feel a need to associated themselves with because we are weak; we dont feel we can fend for ourselves, and have to be part of something bigger.

Love is creation.

Love is unicycling day or night, rain or shine… trying to have fun and advance your skills.

“Love, love will tear us apart… again
Love, love will tear us apart… again”

  • Joy Division

or if you would like a more literal song:

“You got to mix it child
You got to fix it, but love
It’s a bitch”
-The Rolling Stones

Love is a rose,
But you better not pick it.
It only grows
When it’s on the vine.

I just realized that I love Linda Ronstadt. Doesn’t that in itself make love real?

Jesus would love you if he were real.

Nice edit…although you might have used ‘penis’ instead of ‘love’.

If love didn’t exist, what would I be loosing sleep over?

But what if I’m not real?

Yeah, I agree.

Weakness is an inevitable condition of being human.

Courtney Love exists.

time to tell my opinion that everyonwill be against and mock me for…

  1. Love is a strong emotion, there is no need for a definition its something you feel and you just know.
  2. Love is a fealing toward a noun. It can be love for a person which seems to be the most common. It can be love toward an object or place, or even a sport…It is when you love someone so much you owuld do anything for them, you never get sick of them and always want there company.

You cant find or teach love, love finds you

I don’t think Billy made it clear what he meant by “editing” my original post. My original post was about the existence of God and had nothing to do with love. He is using love as an analogous discussion/debate. His “editing” involved replacing the word God with love, evil with hate, atheist with cynic, etc. Just for the record…

Here is my original post.

Cody, I would never mock you. I agree with your ideas about love. But I think you need to expand them. Can you define love? (edit: you started to list the feelings: do anything for, always want to be around, etc. – this is the beginning of a definition. Is there more?)

In the God thread, Billy started talking about love. And I said…

I think Billy’s point is that logic and reason are inadequate to define love (and even to prove love’s existence). Billy hopes that reason and logic will fail in this thread, then he will apply the same conclusion in the God thread.

we also need love to see us thru the crap that follows conception, birth and the growing up phase

our society is so complex, our young need in the region of 18years of nurturing in order to become functioning members of society
compare this to most any wild animal and u’ll see how laughably unsurvivalistery this is
love is there to keep at least two (mature) adults in the picture to help with the rearing of the young

the red roses are optional

Love is not limited to human beings.

oh, u mean like when chimpanzees are left in their cages for a long time they het bored and stuff?

Don’t ya’ love it when you don’t laugh, so they leguberously explain the punch line?

I’m gonna remove the ‘pontificating vigilantly’ title from my profile so that it’s freed up for our 40 year old bottle of cycling steak sauce.

Love is not limited to animals.

Screw you.

Life is love. Loving is living.

Does life exist? Sometimes I feel like I’m surrounded by zombies… sleep, commute, produce, consume, sleep, repeat.
